I did some cloth weaving tonight,
a passion inspired and nurtured by Jude Hill's Cloth to Cloth workshop.
It took me all night to get from this:
To this:
I was half-way though when I took it all apart and started anew.
Now I have to baste it all. I'll use Jude's brilliant invisible basting method.
Kitties "helped."
In between naps.

very beautiful I just love the colour
ReplyDeleteoooh, what color! beautiful. And this contrasts so well with the previous post of whites. Looking forward to seeing further work on this piece.
ReplyDeleteLove those bright colours!
ReplyDelete(was also weaving again the other day ;-) 11)
Beautiful Morna... but I can only imagine how the little kitties would love to "help" with all those dangling colorful strands...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors. I can't imagine weaving it all and then taking it all out to redo - oh whoops of course I can, I've done the same thing with other stitchery projects! *smile*
ReplyDeleteThank you all - and, yes, Gwen, the kitties provided quite the challenge! It would have made an amusing video. :-)
ReplyDeleteWOW! Morna...so beautiful! Inspiring me to do something with all my woven pieces from class!
ReplyDeleteSweet kitty!
Stunning...what a kaliedescope of colours. Makes me happy!

great colors. have the cats been named?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous, gorgeous colors! Like weaving with a rainbow...
ReplyDeleteWow what great colors! Why did you want to redo it? Just curious!
ReplyDeleteMore thanks from me! I love it when something i do inspires someone else to get busy making.
ReplyDeleteNancy - I redid it because some of the strips seemed too wide. I tried to selectively remove and reweave, but that was such a mess, I just ended up undoing the whole thing and starting over.
Deanna - Kitties are halfway there. I have had many cats, and they all were named on day one. Not sure why this is taking so long.
xo
such a beautiful cacophony of color!! so often we shy away from such brilliance...not sure why. i just get the urge to want to roll up in that cloth and lose myself in the sheer joy of all those colors!
